The fifth edition of the Business on Rails Show will be held from October 28 to 30 at the ITM Expo, in São Paulo, Brazil. The Show, organized by Revista Ferroviária, is now recognized as the biggest railway exhibition in Latin America. In 2001 it had 117 exhibitors. This year it should have some 150, among which Bombardier, Alstom, GE, Siemens, Balfour Beatty, Amsted-Maxion, SKF, Timken, TTCI, Aceralia, Johnstown, Cattron, Huta Katowice, knorr, Mott McDonald, Pandrol, SAB Wabco and Safetran. All the Brazilian railroads and the most important metros and commuter systems will participate as exhibitors .
The show has been growing each year running parallel with the Brazilian post-privatization market. The space started to be sold during the Business on Rails 2001, last October, and for the 2003 show booth sales shall start during Business on Rail 2002.
The
Conference will take place at a 400 seat conference hall. As in previous years,
the managers of the freight and passenger railways will present their business
plans for the following year. There will be workshops held on freight and
passenger technical innovations brought by the exhibitors and a Technical Course
on Rail Transportation of Hazardous Materials.
Business on Rails 2002 will
be organized with the full support of the National Association of Railway
Carriers - ANTF - which brings together all the Brazilian freight railways, and
of the São Paulo Metropolitan Trains Company - CPTM - the most important
commuter train operator in Brazil. The ANTF and the CPTM booths are among the
biggest booths at the show.
